花蓮豐濱的新社部落位臨太平洋，三分之一人口都是噶瑪蘭族，族人就地取材，將香蕉樹幹的纖維抽絲，絲線一條條接起來編織成生活用品。「新社香蕉絲工坊」的85歲工藝師伊拜，正專注地將纖細的香蕉絲打結，牢固地接成一條長線。
Paterongan at Fengbin Township, Hualian is situated by the Pacific Ocean. One third of its population are the people of Kavalan. The people employs the local materials and reels threads from the fiber of the banana tree trunk, with which they weave out daily articles. The 85-year-old artisan at Lala Ban, I-Bai, is concentrating on tying knots with delicate banana threads to make a strong long thread.
